Your pictures are so amazing! I look forward to them every week haha. Creative use of fabric and designs. I think my favorite is the second photo of the smiley face fabric. Its just kind of ironic how its smiles on top of your face and you cannot see your expression. And Im glad youre looking to the side, it definitely helps create shadows to make your face appear more three-dimensional.
This could be a great exploration of front, side, and back lighting. At the moment is looks like you are predominately using side lighting. Here is an example on how to light using one lamp:
